Cull Me uP

Workflow Choices Lab

Why Cull Me uP stays between the card and the edit: file-respecting design, no heavy catalog trap, non-destructive decisions and clean handoff to the tools photographers already use.

The missing step

Cull Me uP is not trying to become your editor.

Development software is already very good. Lightroom, Capture One, DxO and others are not the weak link for most photographers. The weak link is what happens before the edit.

Cull Me uP focuses on opening, reviewing, selecting, organizing and preparing. It is designed to improve the input before the editing session begins.

Garbage in, garbage out still applies to photography. If the first step is chaos, the rest of the workflow inherits that chaos.

Workflow choices

What stays under your control.

The Lab is where we can be explicit about the boring-but-important choices.

01

Your files stay files.

Cull Me uP is designed around a file-respecting workflow, not a heavy proprietary catalog that becomes another thing to manage.

02

Non-destructive by default.

Rejects, maybes and selections should remain understandable and reversible. Nothing important should vanish silently.

03

Cleaner handoff.

The goal is to prepare a clearer session for Lightroom, Capture One, DxO, Photoshop or another editor — not replace them.

04

Workflow before features.

The product exists to make the first pass easier to begin, easier to resume and easier to finish while the shoot is still fresh.

XMP and metadata thinking

Choices should travel with the work.

Cull Me uP is designed around a practical question: how can selection decisions remain useful when the photographer moves to the next tool?

The implementation details can evolve, but the principle stays stable: the app should not trap the photographer. Picks, rejects, stars, colors and session decisions should support a clean handoff.

What we deliberately do not do

No Lightroom clone. No DAM ambition. No black-box workflow.

Good product design is also knowing where to stop. Cull Me uP does not try to replace the editor, own the archive or become an all-purpose database.

It is the missing step between the card and the edit.

Better input. Cleaner editing session.

Cull Me uP improves the moment before the editor, so the editor receives the right images in a clearer structure.
